Allie & Stephen

These photos were so much fun to shoot, because that gorgeous blonde is my little sister, and that guy with her is her fiance, who also happens to be my best friend's brother. They are so incredibly excited to be getting married. You see about 9 months ago he first proposed, they planned a wedding, then he left for med school and stress just got in the way, so they canceled the wedding, she gave him back the ring and they went back to dating until they both knew they were both ready to be able to handle a real marriage, not just a wedding. Pretty smart of them, huh? Well, Christmas came around, and he reproposed. My mom became a nervous wreck because she didn't think it had been long enough for either of them to have matured, but after watching them all week during the holidays, we all just knew, this is it (for real) this time and the wedding is set for April 18th in Houston Texas where my family lives.

These pictures were shot in Brenham Texas, just wandering around town.

Katrina

This is the same Katrina who's prom photos we did. I'd been scoping out locations for possible senior portraits for this year and decided I wanted an actual model to play with the lighting with. We're going back this summer to do her real Senior Portraits, probably in the same place. We had a ton of fun, of course what teenage girl doesn't have fun when you invite them to be a model for a day?

Lisa & Dan

Lisa and Dan are friends of ours from church. Their wedding was so much fun, mainly because everyone there was having so much fun! It was all just like one huge family reunion of celebrating their families coming together, including Lisa's 9 year old son Noah accepting Dan as a father. The little boy kneeling next to the groom is Noah, more pictures of their family to follow.

Heather and Dave

Heather and Dave were a referral from a friend at church, but it's turns out, I'd known Heather all along. She's a teller at our credit union, where I go basically every day. Heather and Dave have been together for years, everyone's reaction to their wedding seemed to be "FINALLY!". It was gorgeous, the colors, the sunshine, the outdoor ceremony and the bride.

Joelle Hope

Joelle and her mommy Theresa are good friends of mine. Theresa's known me in many ways through the years, and therefor I was one of the first non-family people in their house after Joelle was born. I was there when she went into labor, and then I was there 5 days later with my camera to do her first photo shoot. These are from Joelle's 1 year pictures, taken in AUgust of this year.

This little girl is one of "my" babies. She knows my voice when I enter their house and gets all excited to come find me. When I babysit it's no problem that mom's not there, I'm good enough. I love this little girl. She's a champion eater, climber and crawler. She walks, but not if she doesn't have to, she's a speed demon on her knees, so walking's just not interesting for her, it's boring because it's so slow. She's a drama queen and usually quite vocal. She knows her Pooh characters by name, and has her hand full of phrases, but her "tada!" accompanied by "jazz hands" is my personal favorite. :)

Kelly's Prom

My little girl, who I used to babysit, is a Senior right now, she's graduating in June, and this past May I not only did her makeup for prom, but I was her family's photographer as well. How can someone who was 9 years old, not allowed to use the stove and had to go to bed at 9:00 be graduating highschool so soon? I feel old, and she's not even mine! But, she is gorgeous, and oh so grown up!

Katrina's Prom

Katrina is one of my favorite teenage girls ever! Actually, both girls are named Katrina, but the one in Lavender is the good friend of mine. I was actually Katrina's small group leader in Junior High and now she's a Junior in Highschool and a good friend. She asked us to do her prom pictures and when we got there we had no idea how involved this would be. There were at least 15 prom couples there and we ended up shooting pictures for her family and then for her friend, another Katrina's, family as well. The yard they met in for the pictures was amazing. They had a bridge over a small creek leading into a pond with a fountain and lilacs everywhere, seriously, it was THE yard to do pictures in!
